A Homegrown goalkeeper with potential, Max Anchor signed an MLS Homegrown pre-contract in May 2022, becoming the 25th all-time academy player to sign an MLS Homegrown contract with the club.

Anchor agreed to a contract through 2025 with club options for 2026 and 2027. The goalkeeper is currently away on loan with Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC through December 31, 2025.

WHITECAPS FC

'24: Anchor spent the 2024 season gaining playing experience with the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side, Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2). The Homegrown goalkeeper started a career-high 17 matches and kept four clean sheets.

'23: Anchor continued his development with the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2), starting 14 matches and keeping two clean sheets.

'22: Anchor was signed to both an MLS Homegrown pre-contract starting in 2023 as well as an MLS short-term agreement on May 21. The day after, the then-17-year-old goalkeeper made his first team debut and his first MLS start at Charlotte FC. The native of Burnaby, BC spent the rest of the season playing with the ‘Caps MLS NEXT Pro side Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2), starting five matches.

WHITECAPS FC ACADEMY

Prior to signing his contract with the first team, Anchor was in the Whitecaps FC BMO MLS Academy since joining as a 13-year-old from Mountain United FC of the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League in 2017.

INTERNATIONAL

Anchor was called up to represent Canada at the 2019 Concacaf U-15 Boys Championship, and in April 2022 was called into camp in Costa Rica with Canada's U-20 men's national team.
