Charlotte FC signed American forward Patrick Agyemang on Feb. 4, 2023. Agyemang was originally acquired via the 2023 MLS SuperDraft as the 12th overall selection.

Agyemang had a breakout season in 2024, featuring in 36 matches across all competitions for the First Team, scoring a team-high 10 goals and contributing five assists, which tied him for second-most on the team. In the Club’s first round matchup against Orlando City SC, the forward converted his penalty in the shootout en route to CLTFC’s first-ever playoff match victory.

In his first year in Charlotte, Agyemang spent time split between the First Team and the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Crown Legacy FC. For the First Team, he appeared in 12 matches, making one start, and adding one goal which came in a 3-3 draw against Seattle Sounders FC on June 10. He made his MLS debut as a substitute on May 27 in a 1-0 win over LA Galaxy. With Crown Legacy, Agyemang appeared in 12 matches on the year, scoring a team second-best 10 goals and notched two assists.

Prior to his time in the Queen City, Agyemang spent two years at the University of Rhode Island following a two-year stint in Division III with Eastern Connecticut State University. With the Rams, the forward netted 19 goals in 37 appearances while contributing 12 assists. He was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team in his junior and senior years and was an Atlantic 10 All-Championship selection in 2021. Heading into his senior season, the forward was tabbed to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list. While at Rhode Island, Agyemang also competed in USL League Two with the Western Mass Pioneers, where he scored six times in 15 appearances between the regular season and playoffs and helped the squad take home the Eastern Conference title.

With Eastern Connecticut State University, Agyemang made 39 appearances and scored 30 goals while adding 10 assists. He was named the LEC Rookie of the Year and to the All-LEC Third Team in his freshman season while being named the LEC Offensive Player of the Year and to the United Soccer Coaches Division III Third Team in his sophomore year, in addition to repeating as an All-LEC First Team selection.

In 2025, Agyemang received his first USMNT call up from Mauricio Pochettino for the annual January Camp. The forward scored in both of the friendlies he appeared in against Costa Rica and Venezuela.

2024 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Appeared in 31 matches, starting in 19, totaling 1,838 minutes. Tallied a team-high 10 goals and five assists, tying him for second-most in the squad. Second in shots (59), shots on target (27) and xG (8.94). Tied for fourth in key passes with 21. Leagues Cup – Appeared in both of CLTFC’s matches in the group stage, converting his penalty in a shootout victory over Cruz Azul on July 31. MLS Cup Playoffs – Appeared in all three playoff matches against Orlando City SC, starting in two. Converted his penalty attempt in Game 2 to help push CLTFC to its first-ever playoff win.

2023 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Appeared in 12 matches, making one start, totaling 182 minutes. Made his MLS debut off the bench on May 27 in a 1-0 victory at LA Galaxy. Scored his first MLS goal on June 10 in a 3-3 draw against Seattle Sounders FC. U.S. Open Cup – Featured in one match, coming off the bench against Birmingham Legion FC. Leagues Cup – Appeared in four of CLTFC’s five matches. Scored two goals, one in a 4-1 win over Necaxa on July 29 and the other in a 2-1 victory over Houston Dynamo FC on Aug. 7. Converted his penalty to win the shootout against FC Dallas in the opening match of the group stage. MLS Cup Playoffs – Came off the bench at halftime and scored against New York Red Bulls in the Wild Card match. (Crown Legacy FC): MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season – Appeared in 11 matches, all starts, totaling 970 minutes. Tallied a team second-best 10 goals. Contributed two assists. Made his debut on March 26 against Huntsville City FC. Scored his first professional goal in the form of a match-winner against Columbus Crew 2 on April 23. Third in the squad in shots (36) and shots on target (17). MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs – Played the full 90 in the Club’s first playoff match against Columbus Crew 2.

International: Has made 2 appearances for the USMNT. Debuted with the United States at the 2025 January Camp, where he scored a goal in each of the friendly matches against Costa Rica and Venezuela. Made his international debut on Jan. 18. 2025 against Venezuela.
