Acquired: Rapids signed Sam Vines to a three-year homegrown contract on February 23, 2018. Vines was later signed to a four-year contract through the 2027 season, on Jan. 22, 2024 from Royal Antwerp FC of the Belgian Pro League.

  • Named to the MLS Homegrown roster that took on Guadalajara’s U-20 team on 7/30. Vines wore the captain’s band for the second half of the match and converted his penalty during the penalty shoot-out.

2018

  • Became the seventh Development Academy player to sign a first-team contract with the Rapids.
  • Spent the majority of the 2018 season on loan with the Charlotte Independence of the USL.
  • Vines appeared in 29 games for the Independence, 25 from the start, logging 2,303 minutes.
  • Vines made his MLS debut with the Rapids on 10/21 against the San Jose Earthquakes.
  • Missed the final game of the year due to a quad strain (10/28).

2021

  • Called up to joint USMNT / U-23 MNT January 2021 camp in Bradenton, Fla., on 1/5
