A dynamic wingback with an eye towards goal, Édier Ocampo was acquired by Whitecaps FC via transfer from Colombian Categoría Primera A side Atlético Nacional in August 2024.

Ocampo agreed to an MLS U22 Initiative contract through 2027, with a club option for 2028.

WHITECAPS FC

'24: After arriving in Vancouver in September, Ocampo made one start and six appearances across all competitions. The Colombian made his ‘Caps debut as a substitute against FC Dallas on September 7 and made his first start for the club at LA Galaxy on September 21.

ATLÉTICO NACIONAL

'23-'24: Ocampo originally came through Atlético Nacional's youth academy and joined the first team ahead of their 2023 campaign, making his first team debut in April 2023. In total, Ocampo started 45 of his 58 appearances, scored three goals, and added five assists across all competitions for the club. During the 2024 season, the dynamic wingback recorded three goals and one assist in 18 starts and 23 appearances across all competitions. Ocampo also helped Nacional win the 2023 Copa Colombia and the 2023 Colombian Superliga.

FORTALEZA CEIF

'22-'23: Prior to joining Nacional’s first team from the academy, Ocampo was loaned out for a year to Colombian second division side Fortaleza CEIF, where he started 14 of his 17 appearances and recorded two assists across all competitions.

INTERNATIONAL

At the international level, Ocampo has made 25 appearances for Colombia's U-19, U-20, and U-23 sides, with four of those appearances coming at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina. Ocampo started all four of his appearances at the tournament and registered an assist in the Round of 16 matchup against Slovakia before bowing out to Italy in the quarterfinals. In addition, Ocampo was a bronze medalist with the U-20 side at the 2022 South American Games, where he started four of Colombia’s five matches.

YOUTH

In addition to spending time in Atlético Nacional's academy, Ocampo also played with grassroots side Sol de Oriente during his youth.
