2023: Rodríguez signed a new deal with the Club in March as a Designated Player through the 2027 season, taking the #10 jersey.
2022: After helping City to MLS Cup and Eastern Conference success, he featured in 32 of 34 MLS games, and bagged seven goals in all competitions. With 16 goal creations, he also moved up to fifth in the Club's all-time assists charts. A stellar September saw the Uruguayan scoop the Etihad Player of the Month award, before he helped the Boys in Blue to Campeones Cup glory, finishing the season with five assists in six games.
2021: The forward was signed on loan from Montevideo City in June and enjoyed a memorable first year with the Club. The regular season saw Rodríguez record three goals and one assist in 21 games. Moving into the playoffs, he helped the Boys in Blue advance past the New England Revolution by scoring the game's opening goal after just three minutes, en route to a maiden MLS Cup triumph.
Youth: Santiago began his career with Nacional in his homeland before joining Montevideo City in 2020. He was subsequently loaned back to Nacional. A regular member of his country's youth national team, he has represented Uruguay at U15, U17, U18, U20, and, U23 level.
